November 7: An Evening with Krannawitter, Brook, & Williams
On November 7, two days after the election, we are gathering in person to discuss election results, what a future of freedom in the United States looks like, and how to make it happen. Please join us.
In late October 2008—just days before the presidential election—Barack Obama spoke about “fundamentally transforming” the United States.
On this subject, I agree with him. I too want to transform our nation in a fundamental way.
What We Are
Our United States of America has become another failing experiment in progressive central planning and social engineering. We are now surrounded and ruled by millions of unelected, unionized bureaucrats who create regulations as if they’re medieval kings issuing royal edicts, and enforce those regulations as if they’re laws.
Our government is more expensive and wasteful than ever, inviting crony corruption. Why else would your tax dollars, laundered through foreign aid boondoggles, end up in Hunter Biden’s personal checking account?
There are now more pages of federal regulations than any human can read, many of which contradict each other. Being in compliance sometimes means being in violation—simultaneously.
Will you be punished? It depends. The important question is whether you’ve given regulators sufficient reasons to look the other way and harass others. It also depends on their mood.
That’s not the rule of law. That’s the opposite.
Our government now taxes, takes, and spends your money while borrowing even more and adding to our staggering national debt to incentivize irresponsibility, idleness, and dependency among citizens, all while fueling civic division and domestic tribalism disguised as “diversity,” “equity,” and a thoroughly exclusionary version of “inclusion.”
The maze-like halls of bureaucracy have become postmodern progressive indoctrination camps for government employees. If you’re not a fascist, socialist, communist, or some other variety of progressive when you’re hired by the government, you will be before you retire.
Outside of government, the same elites who support the progressive system described above promote an even greater, soul-destroying evil: a kind of moral nihilism, purposelessness, and perversion leading an increasing number of young Americans down a path of despair, depression, addiction, suicide, and random mass murders of strangers.
We are no longer a cultured nation. Culturally, we have become a cess pool in which virtue is mocked—in which moral relativism has eclipsed moral right—while popularity is now synonymous with obscenity and vulgarity.
What We Want to Become
I want to change all of that, fundamentally. I want to transform the United States from its current status as a failed experiment in progressivism to a self-governing constitutional republic where virtuous citizens prosper and flourish while pursuing happiness within the context of a good life.
I want to remind fellow citizens what it means to live freely, and to live well. I suspect many of you do, too.
Regardless of the outcome of the upcoming November presidential and congressional elections, we face many significant challenges. There is much work to be done—more than one president can do on his own.
That’s why we are gathering in person on the evening of November 7, 2024, to discuss what a future of freedom in the United States looks like and how we can make it happen.
Can there be a better time to be in a friendly environment with intelligent and insightful people? You should join us!
On November 7, Defenders of Capitalism presents an event titled “Beyond the Ballot.” I will sit next to my friends Dr. Yaron Brook and Mike Williams (President of Defenders of Capitalism) to discuss the election results, as they are known at that time. We will talk about what is ugly, bad, and yes, even good about the United States and its future, and you can participate.
Let’s Meet and Talk In-Person
We’ll dive deep into some thought-provoking questions with a focus on the principles of freedom and how we can be more effective agents of change for individual rights and human flourishing.
The setting will be somewhat intimate and there are only about 35 tickets remaining, so get yours now if you want to attend. A ticket is currently $75—which includes drinks and hors d'oeuvres—but that price will likely increase as available seats become fewer in number.
We Defenders of Capitalism actually understand supply and demand, after all. So act now, and I look forward to seeing you November 7.
