Short Stack: Tickets Still Available
Our Constitution, more than ever, is in need of a moral defense. That is what I will provide Saturday night. That is why you should join us.
There will be a show this Saturday evening, September 21st. It’ll be a different kind of show, unique even, and moving. There will be moments you might cry, moments you will laugh, and along the way you will learn.
There are tickets available, though I hear they’re selling fast. You should get yours and join us.
Yes, I will be there. I will be telling the tragic and triumphant story of how the people of the United States understood that slavery is a great moral problem and then solved it more expeditiously, more decisively, and constitutionally, than any nation, anywhere, ever.
It’s a story packed with drama. It’s a drama filled with stories that will stretch your imagination, even though the stories are quite true.
This is the week of Constitution Day, so I will be emphasizing the provisions within the Constitution directly related to slavery, and why those Constitutional features were so important in placing slavery, in the words of Abraham Lincoln, “in the course of ultimate extinction.”
I will focus on the Constitution for another reason: Critics have been trying to undermine the credibility and moral respectability of the Constitution, for a century, in order to redefine, violate, and in many instances simply ignore it.
Our Constitution, more than ever, is in need of a moral defense. And there can be no moral defense of the Constitution without addressing the glaring, giant problem of slavery in the American Founding and in the Founders’ Constitution.
That is what I will do Saturday night. That is why you should join us if you can.
To boot, my friend and colleague Congressman Bob Schaffer will be an important part of the evening. Among politicos, Bob is unusual: He is a tremendous student; he never stops learning. And he is oh-so-talented.
I’ve worked closely with him for many years. I know.
Congressman Schaffer will be our MC for the evening, and more. For those who attend, Bob will provide a unique treat at the end of the show, probably unlike anything you’ve ever seen from a trail-blazing, award-winning charter school headmaster.
I’m not going to give it away here. Come and see for yourself. I promise you will not be disappointed. Brings your family. Bring friends. I look forward to seeing you on Saturday.
